1. Conveyor runs to one side at given point on structure.

① Conveyor frame out of alignment: Make adjustments in affected area.

② Adhesive materials on the rollers: remove accumulated adhesive materials: improve maintenance: install scrapers or other cleaning devices.

③ The roller does not rotate properly: Release the roller that does not rotate and improve maintenance and lubrication.

④ Conveyor frame or structure is bent: straighten within affected area.

⑤ Misalignment of the roller bracket: Adjust the roller within the affected area.

2. Particular section of belt runs to one side at all points on conveyor

① The conveyor belt overlap is not aligned: cut off the joint and make a new joint.

② Belt arching: For new belts, this situation can be eliminated after a short running-in period and stretching.

3. Belt runs to one side for long distance or entire length of conveyor

① The conveyor belt deviates at the tail roller and the entire unloading section: Install a deviation-correcting roller before the tail roller in the return section.

② Loading eccentricity or poor load-bearing: Adjust the discharge chute so that the load is in the center of the belt, so that the discharge direction is the same as the belt running direction, and the discharge or discharge speed is close to or equal to belt running speed.

③ Adhesive materials on the rollers: remove accumulated adhesive materials: improve maintenance: install scrapers or other cleaning devices.

④ The roller or pulley is misaligned with the center line of the conveyor belt: adjust the roller within the affected area.

⑤ Conveyor frame or structure is bent: straighten within affected area.

⑥ Misalignment of the roller bracket: Adjust the roller within the affected area.

4. Belt runs off at tail pulley

① The conveyor belt deviates at the tail roller and the entire unloading section: Install a deviation-correcting roller before the tail roller in the return section.

② Misalignment of the roller bracket: Adjust the roller within the affected area.

③ The roller cover is damaged: Replace the roller cover.

8. Excessive belt stretch

① The conveyor belt is installed incorrectly, causing the conveyor belt to obviously stretch too much: when loading the belt, use a counterweight equal to the minimum tension required for unloaded operation and drag the belt over the counterweight; use mechanical splices when loading the belt.

② The initial position of the counterweight box is incorrect, causing the conveyor belt to obviously stretch too much: consult Shandong ContiTech’s technical department to recommend a suitable position.

③ Insufficient counterweight stroke: Consult Shandong ContiTech Technical Department to recommend the minimum stroke.

④ The conveyor belt tension is too high: the transport volume remains unchanged, increase the belt speed: the belt speed remains unchanged, reduce the transport volume: improve maintenance and replace the damaged roller to reduce friction: add rubber to the roller, increase the wrapping angle to increase Contact area to reduce belt tension: Reduce the counterweight to the minimum required value.

⑤ The counterweight of the tension device is too heavy: Calculate the correct tension and reduce the counterweight.

⑥ The conveyor belt strength is insufficient: Recalculate the operating tension of the conveyor belt and select a suitable conveyor belt.

9. Grooving, gouging or stripping of top cover

① Wrong adjustment of the baffle or wrong material: Adjust the position of the baffle so that the gap between the metal plate and the surface of the conveyor belt is at least 25mm. The gap increases with the running direction of the conveyor belt; use a rubber baffle (old conveyor belts cannot be used).

② The conveyor belt settles when the material is impacted: install a buffer roller.

③ Materials accumulate at the bottom or inside the discharge chute: Improve the design of the discharge chute to reduce overflow; Install the baffle; increase the width of the discharge chute.

④ Material impact conveyor belt: Improve the design of the discharge chute to reduce the impact; install buffer rollers.

10. Severe pulley cover wear

① The roller does not rotate properly: Release the roller that does not rotate and improve maintenance and lubrication.

② Slippage at the driving drum: the spiral tensioning device rotates the screw, and the hammer-type tensioning device adds counterweight to increase the tension; the drum is coated with rubber; the wrapping angle is increased to increase the contact area.

③ Sprinkling and accumulation: Improve loading and transportation conditions of the unloading chute: Install cleaners: Modify for maintenance.

④ The material is stuck between the conveyor belt and the roller: a cleaner is installed before the tail roller in the return section.

⑤ The forward tilt angle of the roller is too large: the national standard "MT/T 653-2011 Main dimensions for the arrangement of roller sets of belt conveyors for coal mines" recommends selecting the smallest possible value according to the groove angle and belt speed. In any case The lower forward inclination angle should not exceed 2°; use it as little as possible (no more than 10% of the roller group); use conveyors with large groove angles and large inclination angles as much as possible, and consider using automatic self-aligning rollers.

11. Longitudinal grooving or cracking of bottom cover

① The roller does not rotate properly: Release the roller that does not rotate and improve maintenance and lubrication.

④ The roller cover is damaged: Replace the roller cover.

12. Cover swells in spots or streaks

Over-lubrication of the roller causes grease spillage: improve cleaning work; reduce oil consumption; Check the oil seal.

13. Belt breaks at or behind fasteners; Fasteners pull out

① The mechanical joint fastener plate is too long compared to the roller: replace with a smaller fastener; increase the size of the roller.

20. Cover blisters or sand blisters

① If the cover glue is cut by a foreign object or peels off in small pieces: Repair the wound with hot vulcanization or cold vulcanization.

② Over-lubrication of the roller causes grease spillage: improve cleaning work; reduce oil consumption; Check the oil seal.

21. Belt cupping-new belt

The thickness ratio of the upper and lower cover glue is too large: adjust the thickness ratio, and/or use a conveyor belt with a thicker core layer. (GB 50431-2008 "Belt Conveyor Engineering Design Specification" and D IN 22101 standard Part 10.3 Recommended thickness ratio of canvas upper and lower cover glue not greater than 3:1).
